Indiana University Officially Joins Bipolar Action Network

We are pleased to announce that Indiana University has officially joined the Bipolar Action Network. Indiana University becomes the seventh care center to formally join the Network.

The Bipolar Action Network brings together patients, families, researchers, clinicians, health administrators, and industry specialists committed to raise the standard of care for people living with bipolar disorder. By joining the Network, Indiana University becomes part of a growing community focused on identifying critical issues, developing and sharing best practices, implementing quality improvement initiatives, and encouraging a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

“We are excited to officially welcome Indiana University to the Bipolar Action Network community,” said Andy Nierenberg, MD, Director of Bipolar Action Network. “While this marks their formal participation in our network, their team has been deeply engaged in the development of our network since our earliest design conversations, providing invaluable insight and expertise along the way. We look forward to continuing to work with their team to advance research and improve care for people living with bipolar disorder.”

The Indiana University’s Mood Disorders Research Program team has been a trusted partner since the early stages of the Bipolar Action Network. They played an integral role in identifying and shaping key priorities, such as increasing diagnostic certainty in bipolar disorder. To support this initiative, their team has begun to provide consultations to other mental health providers in Indiana University’s Department of Psychiatry for diagnosis, therapeutic approaches, and psychopharmacological treatment of bipolar disorder.

“We are proud to formalize our participation in the Bipolar Action Network,” said Steve Strakowski, MD, Director of Indiana University’s Mood Disorders Research Program. “Being part of this network allows us to both contribute to and learn from a national community of experts, all working toward the shared mission of achieving better, faster outcomes for our patients and their families.”
